The Positive Outcomes Project (POP) is an innovative program addressing the alarmingly high suicide rate among autistic women, who are 13 times more likely to attempt suicide than the general population. This critical issue has been largely overlooked, with only 4.3% of autism research funding in 2020 focused on supporting autistic adults.

POP aims to increase positive wellbeing among autistic women and girls through three interconnected strategies:

  1. Understanding the unique ideation process leading to suicide attempts in autistic women.
  2. Evaluating the impact of sensory-supporting spaces and social opportunities on wellbeing.
  3. Assessing the effectiveness of neurological regulation and preventative care strategies.
